Dairy Queen® Raises $10,647 for El Paso Children’s Hospital during 2017.

Dairy Queen Donates More Than $134 Million to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

Over 34-year History

El Paso, TX [February 15, 2018] — Dairy Queen fans, franchisees and store employees recently wrapped up a fantastic year of fundraising for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, raising $10,647 for El Paso Children’s Hospital, the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

Since 1984, Dairy Queen has raised more than $134 million for the nonprofit. And in the past five years, CMN Hospitals in the United States have seen a 42% increase in funds raised by Dairy Queen fans and franchisees.

Throughout the year, participating Dairy Queen locations hosted a number of campaigns to raise funds for El Paso Children’s Hospital, Free Cone Day in the Spring and Miracle Treat Day in the summer, which took place on July 27. In honor of the day, $1 or more from every Blizzard® Treat sold was donated to El Paso Children’s Hospital to help our local sick and injured kids.

Nationally, the Dairy Queen system raised $5.8 million in 2017.

“Thank you Dairy Queen for once again generously helping so many children,” said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “Dairy Queen’s fans, franchisees and employees went above and beyond—raising more funds for vital treatments, research, equipment and charity care—which helps create more miracles for sick children across the country.”

Pediatric medical care is the most expensive to provide, in part because of all the different sizes of equipment needed to treat kids ranging in size from a one-pound micro-preemie to a seven-foot high school football player. Children’s hospitals also open their doors to all kids, regardless of a family’s ability to pay. Member hospitals in the U.S. provide $3.4 billion in charity care annually.
